Our Goals

The Ridge Foundation's (RF) goal is to empower vulnerable communities in Nepal through sustainable, evidence-based programs and research. It aims to improve education, health, and environmental sustainability for the community while empowering participants from abroad with intercultural learning experiences. By aligning its efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we strive to create a positive impact and a brighter future for both the communities and participants involved.

Our Objectives

The Ridge Foundation’s (RF) primary objective is to promote sustainable growth and empowerment in remote areas of Nepal through evidence-based programs and research. RF implements projects centred on education, health, and livelihoods, with an emphasis on long-term sustainability and community-driven development.

RF’s programs are designed in collaboration with internationally recognised public heath academics. Each program is based on a comprehensive needs assessment, ensuring that interventions are tailored to the specific challenges of these regions and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By adopting evidence-driven strategies, RF aims to address critical issues such as access to quality education, improved health outcomes, sustainable livelihoods, and gender equality, while also promoting environmental sustainability.

RF engages university and college students from abroad, who contribute their expertise as volunteers through hands on projects. This partnership not only supports local communities but also facilitates cultural exchange, skill-sharing, and the transfer of knowledge between international and local students. RF also conducts research to benefit local communities, and we welcome ‘Expressions of Interest’ from students who are interested in being involved in small research activities.

Our Areas and Beneficiaries

The Ridge Foundation works with communities in Kaski, Kavre and Sindhuli districts to empower vulnerable communities and help them lead fulfilling and successful lives. Over the next five years, Ridge Foundation has set ambitious goals in the local communities that are aligned with the UN and Nepal Government's development objectives. We aim to make significant progress in the following areas:

Quality Education: Our focus is on enhancing and expanding the quality of education in our partner schools.

Good Health and Well-Being: We strive to meet the government's health and well-being targets through various initiatives.

Clean Water and Sanitation: We aim to educate and provide access to safe drinking water and clean water solutions while promoting awareness of clean water and sanitation.

Gender Equality: Our efforts include increasing girls' access to sports, education, and life skill opportunities. We also seek to reduce stigma around health and puberty and lower school drop-out rates.

Environment Sustainability: We are dedicated to promoting environmental sustainability by taking various climate actions. We are focusing on two key initiatives: planting trees to combat pollution and conducting awareness and community clean-up programs to reduce pollution in schools and local communities.

Stichting Sarangkot

Stichting Sarangkot (Sarangkot Foundation) has been working for over a decade towards improving the quality of life of the inhabitants of Sarangkot and surrounding villages. From a humanistic vision and in response to the people’s request, the foundation applies itself to providing good education, clean drinking water, and a good, clean environment.
The foundation applies itself to assisting the residents of Sarangkot and the surrounding area, while taking into account, as much as possible, the local culture and natural environment.
The projects focus on water management, education, waste disposal, health, and hygiene.

Freedom Social Foundation

Freedom Social Foundation is the social initiative taken by Freedom Adventures to share what we have learned over the years working within this industry. Adventure tourism is without a doubt a sector that is progressively growing in Nepal. However, the people who come into it do not come into the sector by learning about it but rather work their way up from the bottom.
